Man jailed after discovery of £2m Gloucester cannabis factory
A man has been sentenced to 5 years in prison after police discovered a cannabis factory worth £2 million in Gloucester. The 35-year-old was found guilty of production and possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply.
The factory, which was located in an industrial unit in Gloucester, contained over 1000 cannabis plants at various stages of growth. Police raided the premises following a tip-off from a member of the public.
The man claimed that he was only involved in the operation to pay off a debt, but the judge ruled that he was a key player in the illegal operation.
Gloucester Police have praised the member of the public who came forward with the information that led to the discovery of the cannabis factory. They have urged others to report any suspicions of illegal activity in their communities.
