Colin Pitchfork must not be released, says victim’s uncle
Recently, there has been controversy surrounding the potential release of Colin Pitchfork, a convicted murderer and rapist. Pitchfork was sentenced to life in prison in 1988 for the brutal killings of two young girls, Lynda Mann and Dawn Ashworth. Now, after serving only 33 years behind bars, there are talks of his parole.
However, the uncle of one of Pitchfork’s victims, Lynda Mann, is vehemently opposed to his release. He believes that Pitchfork has shown no remorse for his heinous actions and poses a danger to society if he were to be set free. The pain and suffering that he inflicted on the families of the victims cannot be forgotten or forgiven.
It is crucial that the parole board takes into consideration the feelings of the victims’ loved ones and the potential risk that Pitchfork still poses. The safety of the public must be the top priority in any decision regarding his release.
