RNLI at 200: Saving lives ‘still our core purpose’
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is celebrating its 200th anniversary this year. Since its founding in 1824, the RNLI has been dedicated to saving lives at sea.
Despite changes in technology and society over the past two centuries, the RNLI’s core purpose remains the same – to save lives. The organization’s volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards continue to risk their own lives to rescue those in danger on the water.
As the RNLI marks this significant milestone, it serves as a reminder of the importance of their mission and the countless lives they have saved over the years. Here’s to another 200 years of saving lives at sea.
