Boulter storms through to San Diego semis
British tennis player Katie Boulter has made an impressive run to the semi-finals of the San Diego Open. Boulter, ranked 109th in the world, defeated several higher-ranked opponents on her way to the last four.
She started her campaign with a straight-sets victory over world number 31 Yulia Putintseva, before defeating eighth seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the quarter-finals. Boulter’s powerful serve and aggressive baseline game have been key to her success in San Diego.
With this run, Boulter has shown that she is a force to be reckoned with on the WTA tour. She will now face either top seed Aryna Sabalenka or former world number one Simona Halep in the semi-finals.
We will be eagerly awaiting the outcome of her match and wishing her the best of luck in her quest for the San Diego Open title.
