Runaway Indian train travels 70km without driver
An Indian train traveled for 70 kilometers without a driver before railway staff caught up and brought it to a halt. The incident occurred in the state of Gujarat and left passengers shocked and bewildered.
The train started moving without its driver after he alighted to perform an inspection. Despite attempts to communicate with the driver through the train’s internal communication system, he did not respond. The train continued to gain speed as it traveled through stations and crossings.
Fortunately, railway officials were able to remotely control and bring the train to a stop before any major accidents occurred. Passengers were shaken by the incident but grateful that no one was hurt.
The railway authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the runaway train. Safety measures and protocols will likely be reviewed and reinforced to prevent such incidents from happening again in the future.
