Apple’s Warning: Skip the Rice for Soaked iPhones

Don’t dry your iPhone in a bag of rice, says Apple

Apple recently warned users against using a bag of rice to dry out a wet iPhone, contrary to popular belief. The tech giant stated that using rice to dry out a wet device can actually cause more harm than good.

Instead, Apple suggests gently shaking the water out of the iPhone, using a lint-free cloth to wipe it down, and allowing it to air dry for at least 24 hours before attempting to turn it on.

According to Apple, rice can leave behind residue and dust particles that may further damage the iPhone’s internal components. Additionally, using rice may not effectively remove all the moisture from the device, leading to potential corrosion and other issues.

So next time your iPhone gets wet, resist the urge to reach for a bag of rice and follow Apple’s recommended method for drying out your device.
