Grenfell-style cladding fear after Valencia fire
Following the tragic fire in Valencia, concerns have been raised about the cladding used on the building, similar to the type implicated in the Grenfell Tower disaster.
The fire in the residential tower in Valencia has once again highlighted the dangers of using flammable cladding on high-rise buildings. The Grenfell Tower fire in 2017, which claimed the lives of 72 people, was also linked to the use of combustible cladding.
Authorities in Valencia are now facing calls to urgently remove and replace any similar cladding on buildings in the city to prevent a similar tragedy from occurring.
Residents living in buildings with similar cladding are understandably fearful for their safety and are calling for action to be taken quickly.
