Israeli report says Hamas sexual crimes ‘systematic’
An Israeli report released today has accused Hamas of committing systematic sexual crimes against women and children in the Gaza Strip. The report, compiled by the Israeli government’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, includes testimonies from victims and evidence gathered by Israeli intelligence agencies.
The report alleges that Hamas militants have been using sexual violence as a weapon of war, targeting women and children in particular. The testimonies describe horrific acts of rape, sexual assault, and exploitation, with victims as young as 5 years old.
Israeli officials have called for international condemnation of these atrocities and for accountability for the perpetrators. The report is expected to be presented to the United Nations and other international bodies in an effort to raise awareness and pressure Hamas to end these heinous crimes.
