Zoo welcomes one of world’s smallest monkeys
The local zoo recently announced the arrival of a new addition to their primate exhibit – one of the world’s smallest monkeys, the pygmy marmoset. Visitors can now catch a glimpse of this tiny and adorable creature swinging from branch to branch in its new home.
The pygmy marmoset, also known as the finger monkey, is native to the rainforests of South America and is considered one of the smallest primates in the world. Despite their size, these monkeys are incredibly agile and have a playful nature that makes them a favorite among zoo-goers.
The zoo staff have been working hard to ensure the pygmy marmoset feels comfortable in its new environment, providing plenty of opportunities for enrichment and socialization. The exhibit is designed to mimic the monkey’s natural habitat, with plenty of trees, vines, and hiding spots for them to explore.
Visitors are encouraged to stop by and say hello to the newest resident of the zoo, and learn more about these fascinating and unique creatures.
