O’Connor’s request to Trump: Respect her music

O’Connor’s estate asks Trump not to use her music

The estate of singer-songwriter Sinead O’Connor has issued a statement asking former President Donald Trump to refrain from using her music in any of his political campaigns or events.

O’Connor, who is known for hits such as “Nothing Compares 2 U” and “Mandinka,” passed away in 2020. Her estate has made it clear that they do not want her music to be associated with any political ideologies or beliefs that go against her own values.

The statement from O’Connor’s estate reads: “It has come to our attention that the music of Sinead O’Connor has been used without permission in political settings. We ask that President Trump and any other individuals or organizations respect our wishes and refrain from using her music in any capacity.”

This request is not uncommon in the music industry, as many artists have voiced their opposition to having their music used for political purposes without their consent. O’Connor’s estate is simply asking for the same respect and consideration for her music.

As of now, former President Trump has not responded to the request from O’Connor’s estate. It remains to be seen whether he will comply with their wishes or continue to use her music in his campaigns and events.
