Sarah Everard police shock at learning killer was PC
The Metropolitan Police were left shocked and disturbed upon learning that the man arrested for the murder of Sarah Everard was one of their own officers.
Sarah Everard, a 33-year-old woman, went missing on the evening of March 3 while walking home from a friend’s house in south London. Her disappearance sparked a nationwide search and reignited conversations about women’s safety.
It was later revealed that Wayne Couzens, a serving Metropolitan Police officer, had been arrested in connection with Sarah’s disappearance. Couzens, who was charged with kidnapping and murder, had worked in the Diplomatic Protection Unit at the time of the crime.
The news sent shockwaves through the police force and the public alike, prompting questions about trust and accountability within law enforcement agencies. The incident has led to calls for greater scrutiny of police officers and their conduct, as well as improvements in the way cases of violence against women are handled.
As the investigation into Sarah Everard’s murder continues, the Met Police have vowed to cooperate fully with the authorities and do everything in their power to ensure justice is served for Sarah and her family.
